Buoys

To apply for a Buoy, Homeowners and Cabin Renters follow the same process. Below is the essential information you need to apply for a Buoy.

2024 Applications Forms

Buoy Season

  • Buoy Season runs from Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend to September 30.

  • Buoy Applications available on the website starting February 1

  • Deadline to submit Buoy Application: May 1

RTO Assessment must be current

Homeowner must be current on their annual RTO HOA assessments to be eligible. If you are a Cabin Renter, the Homeowner of your rented cabin must be current on their RTO assessment for you to apply for a buoy. The HOA will verify payment status before accepting Cabin Renter Buoy applications.

How to Request a Buoy

Download and complete the appropriate application:

Follow the instructions in the application to mail the completed checklist, application, payment, and required insurance information to the appropriate Buoy Manager for your desired buoy field. We will send you an email confirming receipt of your application, so please make sure your email address is legible.

Buoy Rental Fee

The cost for Homeowners is $675.00 for the full season, May 28 – Sept. 30, 2022. To streamline buoy management, partial season rentals are no longer offered. The cost for Cabin Renters is $450.00 per week.

Buoy Assignments

After May 1, we will randomly assign buoys to applicants. We will email your buoy assignment to you by May 15. If there are more applicants than buoys, some applicants will not receive a buoy. Since the buoys are assigned randomly, there is no benefit to submitting applications earlier than later: as long as we receive your application by May 1st, you’ll have the same chance of a buoy assignment as anyone else. Note that buoys are not guaranteed for either Homeowners or Cabin Renters.

Ensure You Use the Proper Buoy!

If you have your boat delivered, it is your responsibility to verify that it has been put on the proper buoy. If your boat is not on the proper buoy, the HOA will move your boat to the proper buoy, and you will be billed for the service.

Buoy Rules

It is the buoy renter’s responsibility to understand the buoy rules and guidelines.

Visit the Buoy Rules page to read important rules.
